From The Mouth Of A Baby

Yes, I said it. It is blistery cold outside. It is only 0 degrees and very cold. I think it is good that mom and me are staying in the house. Mom does have to go to work on Wednesday, but not me, I am staying home with dad, the dog and the cats. We are going to stay warm. It is going to snow again today or tomorrow and we might get six inches.

I have some nice warm clothes and my jammies are so warm and cuddly. I stay warm at night when I sleep. I have my favorite blanky and it keeps me warm. I was playing a lot yesterday with my new toys. I have fun making music. All I have to do is hit the button and the music starts. Then I smile so big mom says.

I think I am getting on the dogs nerves because he cries when I play this one song. I don’t know what his problem is, but it is funny.

Temperatures were warm and the rain washed almost all the snow away. Mom says that now the snow looks dirty and icky. The warm sun and the rain sure did make a mess. The dog went outside and came in full of mud. He had to have a towel bath at the door. He was full and dad was not happy. He said that since I am on the floor all the time, it needs to stay clean. The dog doesn’t seem to care about that.

I played with my new toys and mom tried on some pretty clothes on me. I don’t mind changing clothes twenty times a day. She sure was excited about how pretty I looked. To me, it was just more clothes for her to wash and me to get dirty. I would like to stay in my comfy jammies all day. But, for some reason, mom thinks I need to wear clothes.

Grandma works in her jammies so why can’t I wear my jammies all day. No one is coming to see us. I don’t understand. When I get older, I am going to wear jammies all day, except when I go somewhere or people come over. I have to get back to my toys now, see you later.

I was so surprised when Santa Claus showed up at grandpa and grandmas house after dinner. I was in a real happy mood and then I had to wait for all the other kids to sit on his lap and get their presents that when it was finally my turn, I cried. Mom held me and sat on his lap so I could stop crying and have my picture taken. Then I got to open my present.

I was very happy with the Christmas wrapping paper. It tasted so good. Then dad helped me open the present and it is a turtle with buttons on it. When you touch a button, it sings a song. It is so pretty and sounds nice. Yes, I also got some closes from everyone and some more toy, but that is special because Santa gave it to me early.

It was a long day, but I had fun. I missed my bedtime and fell asleep on the way home. I woke up and I was in my bed again. I don’t know how this happens. One minute I am in the car and the next thing I know, I am in bed.

Yes, I am a lucky little girl. I will celebrate Christmas so many times and I will be a good girl. Plus mom said that Santa Claus is coming on Christmas day. She said that he comes when I am asleep. I don’t know if I want somebody in the house at night when we are sleeping, but she said it is okay that he comes. I just wonder how he is going to get pass the dog. He will not be very friendly to someone he doesn’t know. Maybe we will have to get rid of him.

I am officially a crawling baby and I am having fun. Mom said that this is to early for me to be doing this, but I want to get around now not later. I will tell you all about my Christmas tomorrow. I am excited to see what I get.

This weekend it is supposed to reach the high 30’s so mom and dad are going to take me grocery shopping. I finally get to go out of the house. I was beginning to think I was going to be stuck in this house with the cats and the dog all winter. Mom said that it is supposed to rain and it might make some of the snow melt away. Then maybe I can go outside more. I think she keeps me in the house so I won’t get loss in the high snow.

I have been having a coughing problem at night when I sleep so they bought me a humidifier that is in my room with the door closed. It is helping me and I even sleep through the night now because I can here that humming sound. Well that is what dad thinks anyways. I just need moisture so my throat didn’t get dry.

I am getting excited because next weekend we are having Christmas with dad’s moms’ family and tomorrow we have it with mom’s dads’ family. I am going to have a lot of Christmas’s and presents. I can’t wait to see all the toys I want.

My dad gets so mad when he reads the paper or watches the news and sees how people are being so abusive to their dogs. Our dog is so well cared for and he wishes that al dogs could be loved.

One woman dad said, left her border collie outside in 8-degree weather after wet snow and his back paws froze to the ground. Dad said the Humane Society had to pour warm water over his paws to thaw him out. Because he was so fat, they thing that is the only reason he did not freeze to death. She got arrested.

Then a few days later a man had a Pit Bull that only weight 25 pounds. The man put the dog out in the snowstorm in an alley. A neighbor called the Human Society and they called the police. The man was watching the dog for a friend who never came back so he put the dog in the alley hoping someone would take him. He didn’t want to take the dog to the Humane Society because he didn’t want to put it in his car, he said. He got arrested.

These people are bad. They should go to jail. Dad said jail is where they put bad people. I am glad I am a good girl.

Moms never seem to get sick, but dad’s always seem to be sick. Well, my dad anyway. He has a cold again. This is the second one he has had and mom said that she is glad that I have not gotten sick. He sure does sleep a lot when he is sick. I never knew that being sick could make you sleep so much. Dad comes home from work, goes to bed and then gets up, eats dinner and lies down on the couch.

I had a big diaper problem yesterday and it was a disaster. I was in my Jumperoo and I must have a tummy ache because I have the diarrhea. Well, you might remember from before that I should not be in my Jumperoo if I have bad diaper days. I guess mom will learn some day soon that I am a little messy when it comes to bad diaper days and the Jumperoo.

Mom’s friend came over with her kids and they are so bad. They don’t listen and I was afraid they would get yelled at, but no, their mom let them be bad. I am never going to be bad, I promise. I am going to be good all the time.

Wow, you should see how much snow we have now. The man on TV says that we are going to get more snow and we just got 7 inches. It is still snowing outside. We could get snowed in and not have any food, I think. It is cold and snowing so much. Mom said that it will be a long winter if this keeps up. She said that last year at this time we didn’t have this much snow, only a trace.

Dad told mom that some guy named Elmino is causing all the snow. I don’t know who he is, but he sure makes a mess. I have to find out who this guy is and why he is so mad that he is making it snow so much. I don’t want my daddy to keep shoveling out the cars. I want him to stay inside where it is warm and safe.

Just so you know, I got the cat again yesterday. Yes, I am getting so good at getting close to her and them I strike. I am a little dickens grandma said.

I made it four crawls yesterday. The cat was sitting there all smug, like I couldn’t get her and I did it. Only problem was that when I got to the cat, I lifted up my hands to hit the cat and I fell over, but I did hit the cat and she ran fast. I am the winner. My mom told me that I should not hit the kitty. She said I must pet the kitty really soft. They cat never did anything nice for me.

It was a cold weekend. It snowed and got really cold. We are getting so much snow and it isn’t even winter yet for two weeks my mom told me. There is a lot of snow though and it is getting deep. You should see the dog in the snow. It is almost up to his belly. He looks funny trying to go to the bathroom. Mom was laughing at him.

I am glad that I don’t have to go outside to go to the bathroom or it would bury me. I still go in my diaper.

Well now, it is official, I am getting further every time I try to crawl. I figure by next week some time, I will be cruising. I am so good now that I am up on all fours and moving. Dad helped me learn how to get up on my knees and my hands. Then he showed me how to move. I still have a few problems moving my hands and my knee together. I fall face on my face. I have rug burn right now. Right on my forehead.

This crawling thing is going to make it possible for me to travel more. I will be unstoppable once I get those knees and hands to work together.

I am sleeping better at night and do enjoy a nap or two during the day since I am using more energy. I do get tired out playing and trying to crawl. This is going to be a great week. That cat, you know the one that lives in my house, I am going to get it this week. Hehe.
