Today is the last day of the year and everyone will be celebrating the New Year with those persons they care about and love. Guess what? My mom doesn’t have to work after all so we will be going to her uncles house about thirty miles away. You know what that means don’t you? I will be waking up in bed again and not knowing how I got there.
Then I heard about this thing that people do on New Years Day. They jump into the cold lake. You can read about it here. I am a little confused about this strange happening, but dad said that they do it every year. It seems different and cold to me.
If you could jump in the lake on a cold winter day, would you do it?

Well Christmas celebrations are done and now we are waiting the New Years Eve. Mom has to work so dad and I are going to stay home and celebrate the New Year by ourselves. We are going to play and watch TV. Dad said that I can stay up a little later if I want to because mom will get home after midnight and she will be tired.
I am going to miss my mom, but dad said that we would have fun playing. He said that grandma is making turkey dinners for everyone so he is going to go over to her house, get the food, and bring it home so mom can eat before she goes to work.
I can’t wait to see what the New Year Eve is like.

We have a fish aquarium with some fish in it. More pets I never knew anything about. The thing is, I found the aquarium when I was crawling around and found a cord to pull on. Yes, mom was right there to say no to me. Then she told dad that they had to do something to hide the cords.
That statement meant that they had to move the living room around to make sure that I could not find the cord anymore. Now, I have to find something else to play with besides my toys. Yes, I like my toys, but when something catches my eye, I have to go and check it out. I am a curious little girl. Mom says that I am a nosey little princess.
I also found one of the two cat litter boxes. I have been told that this is off limits to me. I watched the cat pee in it and then mom told me it was yucky. Well, it is now that the cat peed in it. I could have played in it before that. It looked like a sand box, but I guess not.
I am ready for my last Christmas party today. Dad can’t wait for all this to be over so we can stay home and rest.

Santa Claus left me some more toys and clothes. I must be a very good girl because I got a lot of things. I have to say, I like that wrapping paper for some reason. It doesn’t have a good taste, but for some reason, I can’t stop putting it in my mouth. I don’t understand why I have this urge to put the paper in my mouth.
Dad got a wallet, a movie called Black Night from my mom, and he gave my mom a necklace and CD by Nickelback. They said that they were going light on gifts this year because my dad is saving money in cases he gets laid off and my mom does not work much during the winter. She has a seasonal job as she calls it.
I like having my mom and dad home together. Tomorrow we have our last Christmas party with dad’s dad and wife. Then it will be time for something they are calling New Years Eve. Something new again. I wonder if I get presents for that to.

Christmas Eve festivities included going to another grandma’s house and eating, playing and opening even more presents. Mom and dad said that we will need to get a huge house to live in because my presents are taking up the entire apartment. I got a lot of toys and clothes. Then it was time to head home. Guess what? I fell asleep again and when I woke up, I was in my bed again. This is starting to be a habit.
This is going to be short today because it is Christmas morning and I have Santa Claus presents to open now. There are sure a lot of presents under that tree. I think they are all for me.
What did everyone else get for Christmas?

I am feeling a little teary eyed as I say Merry Christmas to everyone. This is my first Christmas and so far, I am enjoying myself. I wish for everyone a happy and joyous time and I hope you get lots of things that you want for Christmas, but mostly I hope you have families to share time with.
If you have a little time, could you say a little prayer for those less fortunate than you are and hope that they have a warm place to sleep and celebrate the holiday. I know this a lot to ask, but I know there are people that do not have places to live or sleep. I wish everyone could enjoy a home and a warm bed to sleep in like me.
If you get out on Christmas, maybe you could say Merry Christmas to everyone you see and make their day a little brighter.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all and to all a good day.

It was so bitterly cold with wind chills of down to 40 degrees below zero and drifting snow from the night before caused eight-foot drifts on the roads. There were white out conditions everywhere. It was bad dad say when he ran over to grandma’s house. He said he was glad that we were staying in the house.
Even the dog did not want to stay outside long. He would run out and pee, then run back into the house. It was very, very cold when dad would open the door. I was glad that I had so many toys to play with since we were staying home. I was in my sweat pants and sweatshirt, so I would stay warm.
At least we had heat. Some places mom said did not have heat or lights. That is sad for them people. I hope that they had some way to eat and stay warm.
The plows could not keep the drifts off the roads and the cold temperatures were making it bad to be outside. There was even a fifteen to twenty car pile up on the Interstate. No one got hurt bad. I was happy to hear that.

I had a family Christmas with my dad’s mom and family on Saturday. It was fun and I didn’t even cry at all. I did give that fake cry once and a while, but everyone knew I was faking it. I guess that they knew it was a fake cry because I had no tears and as soon as I had my mom, I stopped and smiled. Yes, they figured me out rather quickly.
Then I played with all the kids. I had fun crawling all over that big house. People where laughing at me because they say I crawl funny. Well, I sure can get where I want to very fast. I was cruising al over. Then one of my aunts gave me a baby carrot. I crawled around with that and I would put it in my mouth and pretend to be eating it.
I got lots of clothes and toys. I mostly liked the wrapping paper. It sure did taste good. I ripped the paper that dad helped me with and then in my mouth it went. Everyone was taking pictures of me and they thought I was so cute. I am you know.
Mom and dad put me in my jammies and snowsuit for the ride home. It was snowing again and getting very cold.

These Christmas ornaments are so pretty. They sparkle and make everything
on the tree look pretty. I think my grandma made this and she gave them to my mom. She said that they were so easy to make, but they look hard. I want to touch it, but no one will let me have it. They think I will break it. I will be gentle with it, but no one believes me.
The cat climbed in the Christmas tree again and dad had to get him out. He was peeking through the branches and watching us. It looked scary with those eyes looking at us. Dad was not sure what it was and then he went to move the tree branch and the cat’s paw came out and hit him. He jumped and started laughing.

I woke up this morning and there was so much snow. It was a blizzard outside and my dad made it home safe. When I went to sleep last night it was not snowing, but it sure made up for it in a few hours. Now we are stuck here in the house again.
Last night mom played bowling on TV and I watched her. She is good at it. She likes to play that once and a while, but not to much since I am crawling pretty good now. I do like playing with my new toys. This weekend, we have another Christmas with dad’s mom and that side of the family.
It is going to start at 4:30 and last for a while dad said. It is supposed to snow that night again. I hope we make it home.
