Yesterday My Grandma Told Me About 911
My grandma was at work on September 11, 2001. All the employees were called up to the cafeteria to watch television. I thought this would be fun, but then she told me what happen. My grandma had tears in her eyes as she told me about the bad day. She said that we live in a safe country, which I am glad, but she said that day some bad men hijacked airplanes and flew them into buildings. She said so many people died. She said she cried and could not understand why this had happened.
Grandma was so sweet telling me this story. I was a little scared, but then she told me that I would always be safe because everyone loves me and will protect me. She said that on September 11, everyone would fly their flags at half –mass in remembrance of all that died that day. Grandma tried to wipe her tears away before I could see them, but I saw she was sad.
I am glad grandma told me about this so I know why people are sad when I see them. The rest of the day, I just snuggled with my mom. I am so happy she keeps me safe. I heard this song a lot yesterday to. Mom said that Alan Jackson wrote this song after the attacks and it makes her cry.
