My First Dinner Party
Cousins of my mom’s came over with their two kids for a dinner party. They brought the food and all mom had to do was set the table. I had the two kids ages 4 and 6 years old holding me while they sat on the couch. I was comfortable, but they didn’t say much. They would just hold me and get their pictures taken and they never said a word to me. I don’t think they knew what to say to me. Because they sure could talk when they wanted to play video games and when they wanted to eat.
We had a good time, I was my gracious little self, and I never cried. Mom always tells people I cry, but when someone is around, I am prefect. I do not anyone else knowing that I cry to get my way. They could ruin it for me. So I am always on my best behavior. Mom is always wondering why I do not cry when people are around. I don’t want her to know the truth either.
The grown ups talked a lot and then they had a few drinks. Mom wasn’t drinking though. She said it had been so long that she would probably get drunk on one beer. She just drank Pepsi instead. I had my bottles and the little kids had juice boxes. My dad didn’t know what to do with the juice box. He didn’t even know how to open it or put the straw in it. The little kid had to show him what to do. Now he knows for when I get bigger.
It was early to bed last night because dad had to work Monday morning.
